sick day + morning skincare favorites

Winter is coming….and if you live in a place where you experience a cold winter then you know the winter means catching colds and cozying up at home.

I don’t mind the winter much. I love bundling up and feeling the cold air. It can instantly wake me up or energize me after a tough day. With the harsh weather, I have been putting more effort into my skincare routine. I have dry skin so I try to moisture and use products that can help my skin out during these cold months.

Since I’ve been sick these last days, I wanted to let you know what I’m reading recently, along with my morning skincare favorites. Last week I got the new edition of the Unconditional Magazine– it is where I find so much inspiration. There articles along with the photography in it is beautifully done. I also purchased a cookbook, French Women Don’t Get Fat by Mireille Guiliano. So many delicious meals to prep, along with advice from the author about food and the importance of enjoying it. I am also reading The French Beauty Solution by the founder of Caudalíe, Mathilde Thomas. This book is a gem filled with great advice. Last but not least, I purchased Women Who Run With the Wolves by Ph.D Clarissa Pinkola Estés because I heard many wonderful reviews and heard of how strong and powerful this book is– so I’ll give you a review on this one when I’m finished with it. 🙂

When I’m sick, I try to take it easy throughout the day. I like to do things that I don’t usually have time for the week– things that I enjoy.  I eat a healthy breakfast (boost my immune system), drink my cup of coffee (of course), and then catch up on my reading. I love having hand lotion on or a candle burning– anything that smells fresh and light.

I use Herbivore Coco Rose to exfoliate in the shower at least once a week. I’m obsessed with this– it smells amazing and leaves your body feeling so smooth.

I wash my face every morning and night with Purity facial cleanser. I love how light it feels and it removes all my makeup (even waterproof mascara).

Olay Moisturizer very inexpensive, smells amazing, light, SPF 15, and it leaves my skin feeling moisturize all day even in the winter months. I have been wearing this for years and I love it.

Kiehl’s Creamy Eye Treatment with Avocado

Tea Tree Oil for any blemishes

I let my hair dry on its own and then I use DryBar Sparkling Soda to add some shine to my hair and smooth out any frizz. It also smells amazing!

I’m loving Jo Malone Peony & Blush Suede. My favorite scent is peony so you know why I’m obsessed with this 😉

If you have any questions on any of the products I’m using, let me know! I’ll be doing a nighttime skincare routine next….

I’ll love to hear from you! Let me know what products you’re loving xx
